The history of DMCreative.pro is rooted in the early work of a team that was building for the digital world long before many of today’s trends emerged. Most of our team members have been digitally active since 1996, some even earlier. We started creating websites in 1995 and building intranet networks, including local networks connecting entire neighbourhoods. The technologies and techniques we used may seem old-fashioned today, but they represented forward-thinking approaches at the time.
From Our Digital Beginnings to the Avizo Team
Until around 2006, our team went by the name Avizo, and we often described ourselves as “avisers”. That choice was deliberate. The name carried both a practical meaning and a creative philosophy rooted in its etymology – one that shaped the way we thought about communication, originality and visual identity.
What Does Avizo Mean?
“Avizo” refers to an oral or written, telephone or telegraphic notification informing a party about the arrival of goods, a cheque or bill of exchange, or the opening of a letter of credit. To “advise” or “notify” – from the French aviser – means to inform, announce or warn.
The Avizo Philosophy: Originality and Creative Identity
For us, the “avizo” represented the “roof” or “umbrella” over a complex body of work and activity – specifically, over a multifaceted business operating within a particular field. In other words, it represented something constant, enduring and clearly defined, much like the roof of a house remains in place for as long as the house itself stands, or like the “crown” of a city or landscape – its highest mountain – remains unique, recognisable and protective. At the same time, it is singular and distinctive. Combined with originality and uniqueness, the avizo also serves as a means of recognition and differentiation from others.
At its core, the avizo embodies originality – it is, in essence, an “original work”. It emphasises a creative approach to building, working and acting, from the initial idea through to its realisation. If not in every individual detail, then certainly in its fundamental and defining elements.
Creating a Recognisable Identity Across Complex Projects
When an avizo is created for a complex business project consisting of numerous segments, components or sub-projects – units, production facilities, departments, subsidiary companies and similar structures – it requires a single, recognisable sign: a logo, signal or title. The individual components then carry their own “sub-signs”, elements derived from the main “avizo signal”, or their own subtitles. In electronic media such as radio and television, this role is performed by the programme ident or opening sequence, which also incorporates the additional elements – titles of individual sections, names of presenters, hosts and mediators.
A Creative Philosophy That Continues to Guide Our Work
Everything our teams have created and delivered over the years – as well as everything that remains to be realised when the right conditions emerge – continues to confirm the fundamental meaning and philosophy behind our work.
